About us

Hey everyone!

I'm Iris and I am the creator of SHOP SHANTII. My dog Toffee is the other half of Shop Shantii.

And this is my story:

Born and raised in Germany, I moved in 2018 to the United States.

In Germany, I studied fitness economics. To stay in the field but not start completely from the beginning, I did my yoga teacher license in February 2020.

Ready to teach yoga in march 2020, COVID 19 hit the States and every gym went into lockdown.

I was not brave enough to start my career teaching online classes...

In the summer of 2020 when finally most businesses reopened, I ruptured my Achilles tendon.

And that was it with the yoga career for at least another half a year.

Sitting at home, not being able to do yoga or work, I started painting and crafting more. And I really wanted to start my own online shop. Not sure with what yet, because I created so many things...

Then in September 2020, we rescued Toffee. Well, wait he rescued me! I got depressed with this whole lock down and on top of that I was just learning how to walk again...

Having Toffee around I suddenly knew what kind of shop I wanted to open. I made bandanas and bow ties for him. Dressed him up for any occasion, like zoom birthday party's.

Seeing him all dressed up gives me so much joy, that I want to share this joy, with ALL of you!

And that brings us to where I am now!

Welcome to my online shop: Shop Shantii

Toffee's story:

Toffee was born in Alabama. When he was 3 month old, he and his mom came as foster dogs into our lives. His mom went to a different foster home within 24 hours. It made us cry.

In just 24 hours we got so attached to our two foster dogs.

About 1 day after Toffee's mom left, we decided to adopt him.

He has brought so much joy to our family. We love and spoil him as much as we can.

His favorite things to do are: Chasing squirrels, eating paper, chasing shadows, eating sticks (preferably in the house) and hiding treats all over the house (he loves to 'dig' into the couch).

He is my first dog!

And just now I understand what I was missing all that time.
